Shayla Marie LaCount Dowe started in education long before, she got her degree. Shayla would instruct her peers on classroom procedures in elementary school as a child. In high school, she would be her teacher’s advocate, telling her peers to behave themselves so others could learn.
Shayla was a STEM tutor and lab instructor for general physics in college. After working for STEM instruction companies such as NASA and MOTOROLA, Shayla found her passion for teaching after receiving her B.A. in Mathematics and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She has been a mathematics teacher for the last 23 years and has served as an Administrator: Principal, Assistant Principal, Curriculum Coach, and Mentor Teacher.
Shayla has two children, Landon and Laylan Dowe, and a husband who has tolerated her crazy stories and energetic self for over 23 years.
Shayla’s passion for reaching as many students as possible has propelled her to become an author.
